How to Submit an Application

The School of the Environment at the University of Toronto may hire Sessional Lecturers to deliver some of its undergraduate and graduate courses. Specific courses will be posted below. Those interested should submit the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 application form, (located at www.hrandequity.utoronto.ca/resources/forms.htm), and a current CV by postal service or email.

 General Information

Generally speaking, we expect to make decisions concerning courses in June for Fall and Winter courses, and in late March for Summer courses. However, some decisions may be made earlier or later than these time frames, depending on circumstances. Unexpected vacancies may arise at any time.
Applications will be retained for twenty four (24) months. Persons who submit applications and CVs will receive emailed job postings for specific positions for the subsequent twenty four (24) months.

This notice is posted pursuant to the CUPE Local 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. Please note that in accordance with that agreement, preference in hiring is given to qualified persons holding the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or III.
Exclusion Equivalencies
Under the CUPE Unit 3 Collective Agreement, each unit must post a list of all of the courses offered by other units at U of T, which are "exclusion equivalents" for courses offered by that unit. An "exclusion equivalent" is a course that is not identified in the calendar as an exclusion for a course offered by a unit, but where the content of the course is sufficiently close to the course offered by the unit, such that an instructor who is qualified to teach one would possess the knowledge and skill to teach the other.
