Namrata Shrestha

It is my pleasure to welcome Dr. Namrata Shrestha as a new Adjunct Professor at the School of the Environment.

Dr. Shrestha holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Toronto, with expertise in landscape and urban ecology and conservation planning.  She is a Landscape Ecologist, Research & Development at Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA).  This appointment will offer an opportunity for research collaboration and partnership of the School with TRCA in the area of integrating science into policy and practice, especially in urban ecosystems management.  She is currently working closely with a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) on a joint project with Professors Donald Jackson and Marie-Josée Fortin of EEB which researches road and ecology in urban landscapes and aims to provide science based guidance to policy, planning, and design stages of road network.  Dr. Shrestha also has an interest in mentoring students from the School of the Environment in internships and/or research projects and theses.
