Ira Srivastava (2021), Hons. BSc Major in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology, Minors in Environmental Biology and The Environment and Energy

Ira SrivastavaWhy did you choose to study in the School of the Environment?

I chose to study at the School because I grew up in a country that had very little regard for the environment, and watching the damage being done firsthand instilled a passion for environmental conservation. Studying in the School of the Environment only made sense.

What is your favorite memory from your time with the School?

My favourite memories are all of the events hosted by the ENSU and networking events.

How have you been affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic? What are your thoughts about the future?

As an international student, I haven’t been able to see most of my family at all since 2019, including my newborn niece. I think this pandemic has presented us with an opportunity to create meaningful and systemic changes in the way our governments and institutions operate, but there’s no guarantee that these things will actually come about.
