Biography

Paul Helm is a Senior Research Scientist for contaminant issues in the Great Lakes with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment in the Water Monitoring Section of the Environmental Monitoring & Reporting Branch. His research interests include the fate and transport of organic contaminants in aquatic and urban environments; sources and impacts of microplastics in the Great Lakes; passive sampling approaches for contaminant monitoring, reconnaissance, and assessment; and, non-target mass spectrometric analysis and screening for unknown contaminants/transformation products. He is also an Associate member of the School’s graduate faculty.
