Abril Masola (2023), Specialist in Political Science, Minors in Environmental Studies, and History

Why did you choose to study in the School of the Environment?

I have always cared about the environment and was very interested to study the intersection between environmental studies and politics.

What is your favourite memory from your time with the School?

Definitely taking so many courses focused on the environment and ecological worldviews. I genuinely enjoyed the course content in each and every class.

What have you learned about yourself during your time at U of T?

I have learned that I am more capable of time management than I thought. It is very easy to get overwhelmed and stressed with course work, but I am very proud of myself for staying organized with all my assignments.

Do you have any advice for incoming students?

Stick to what you like and what you are passionate about. I was passionate about climate change and environmental issues growing up, so I am very happy that I chose to study what I truly care about.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation I will be working full-time. I am looking forward to spending the summer with friends and my loved ones.
