Hannah Bellai (2023), BA Major in Environmental Studies, and Minors in Environmental Geography, and Sociology

Why did you choose to study in the School of the Environment?

I deeply love our beautiful planet, Earth, and want to do what I can to take action to sustain it and keep our environment healthy for generations to come.

What is your favourite memory from your time with the School?

Walking though campus in the fall time, and studying in Robarts Library.

What have you learned about yourself during your time at U of T?

I discovered a lot about myself during my time here at U of T and grew so much as a person, examples include how I am a woman of my word, how I stand up for myself and people I care about, and that, whenever it is possible, it is important to spread love.

Do you have any advice for incoming students?

Instead of saying, "I have to do this assignment," say, "I get to do this assignment." Everything is a privilege.

What are your plans after graduation?

To move out West, hopefully to the Rocky Mountains, and find an environmental career that takes action to protect our environment.
