Learning Abroad & Study Abroad

Learning Abroad opportunities are available to Faculty of Arts & Science students to enrich your degree. Explore academic international opportunities offered directly by the University of Toronto or through partner universities by visiting the Learning Abroad website.

To further help students navigate among the many offerings, we have assembled some of the international opportunities that may be of particular relevance and interest to students enrolled in environmental programs or interested in taking environmental elective courses. In general, students will get a regular U of T credit if the course is offered through U of T, or a transfer credit if the course is taken through a partner university.

The opportunities have been categorized below by either summer versus fall/winter term abroad.

A variety of options are available to students interested in a summer course or internship abroad. These options range from intensive 0.5FCE courses offered over 2 weeks to a more immersive 1 FCE course experience spanning 4-6 weeks or more. Summer learning abroad opportunities are offered through two administrative coordinating units: Summer Abroad at Woodsworth College and the Student Exchange Program at Learning Abroad.

For those interested in a more immersive international experience, consider going on an exchange for a Fall or Winter term abroad. The University of Toronto has agreements with partner universities around the world, which allow you to pay your regular U of T tuition while studying abroad. There are also generous subsidies for qualified students to help with any additional costs such as airfare and room & board.

The School of the Environment has been working with the Centre for International Experience (CIE) to identify partner universities with programs and courses of relevance and interest to students enrolled in environmental programs or interested in taking environmental elective courses.
